When most people see the pics of these tournaments I be having I bet y’all can’t even imagine how hard it is to really put them together. This will be my 50th Tournament on July 31st and I learned quite a few things since starting this business venture but nothing more then how much work it actually takes to run a successful 2K or Madden Tournament.
I mean when I first started back in July of 2015 (July 18,2015) I just thought since I already knew of so many people that played 2K for money that it would be a cake walk to do this. Never in my life have I ever been so wrong. I use to do some video production & management in the Philly rap scene back in 2010 and I learned quite a few things that I felt I needed because I started a side business before & I learned various skills like video editing, graphic designing skills etc. So I figured I was all set with what I wanted my vision to look like but when I tell you the promotion & sales piece of this I didn’t quite analyze that part right.
When you think about having a 2K or Madden Tournament I know you just think make a flyer throw it up on your social media and if the prize money is worth it they should all flock to get in. This was my thinking but it never was like this. There is even times In the past with all the promotional tactics I was using I still needed to sign up at least 15 or so people in the last week before the tournament.
But as I sit back and write this newsletter & reflect on my feelings at the 50th Anniversary Mark I know it was all worth it. Why you say, well if you remember my main vision that I would randomly put out there is that I want to run big money tournaments & as of today I can honestly say I’m doing that.
I never heard of a $2000 cash prize 2K tournament coming up in Philly with all the gambling I did in that game over the years. I’m giving the people from all over the country to have a opportunity to fly in and cash out in a game with a comfortable environment where they will feel entertained the whole time doing it. I’m still learning day by day how to make these tournaments better for the players but I can say right now at this mark I’m going in the right direction of my initial vision.
